1.What are GekTV’s customer support hours?
Customer Support hours are Mondays thru Fridays, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time (holidays excluded);
Technical Support hours are Mondays thru Fridays, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Pacific Time; and Saturdays/Sundays/Holidays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Time.
2.How can I sign up for GekTV service?
To sign up for GekTV, you can:
a. Visit our Website at

b. Call our Customer Service Center at 1-888-435-8866, or
c. Sign up at any one of our Authorized GekTV Dealers across the USA.
3.Must I commit to a one-year subscription in order to become a GekTV subscriber?
Yes, and for your 12 month commitment we will waive the cost (Suggested retail value: $150.00) of the GekTV Receiver (“GekBox”). However, the GekBox remains the property of GekTV at all times.
4.Is there a registration or activation fee?
Yes, an initial advance fee equal to the amount of your regular monthly subscription plan will be billed to your credit card account upon signing up. Please note this advance fee will be applied towards your last month’s service bill if you should decide to cancel your GekTV subscription. Additionally, there is a one-time, non-refundable activation fee of $50 for your new GekBox. This fee covers everything…your GekBox preparation, programming, activation, shipping and handling.
5.Do you require a deposit for the GekBox?
Yes. In addition, you will be billed a $150 deposit for the GekBox Receiver. The Receiver Deposit will be refunded to you upon confirmation of receipt by GEKTV of the return of the GekBox Receiver and cancellation of the service by you. However, if you fail to return the Receiver after 30 days of termination, or if the Receiver is not returned in good working condition, you will be charged a total of $150.00 for the Receiver which means the deposit will be forfeited. [Note: Please ask about our special promotional offer in which the $150 deposit requirement can be waived.]
6.How much to you charge for shipping the GekBox?
As noted earlier, all shipping charges are covered in the one-time activation fee and there are no additional shipping charges.
7.What other charges are there for GekTV service?
All plan subscribers pay a $5.99 service charge per month which is billed along with your monthly charges.
8.Will I be charged sales tax for my GekTV service?
We are required to charge sales tax to subscribers residing in California for the GekTV service. California monthly plan subscribers will be charged a one-time sales tax of $12.38 at sign up (based on the GekBox SRP of $150.00 x 8.25% sales tax). Sales tax applies to California residents only; there is no sales tax for residents outside California.
9.Does GekTV start charging the first month’s subscription fee on the date that I sign up?
We begin calculating your first month’s subscription fee on the activation date of your GekBox. If you do not activate the GekBox, then we will begin calculating your first month’s subscription fee 21 days after your GekBox shipping date.
10.What methods of payment does GekTV accept?
GekTV will only accept credit card and debit card payments (VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER).
11.Can I use someone else’s credit card to sign up for GekTV service?
Yes, we will accept a credit card under someone else’s name to sign up for GekTV. However, we must receive written authorization from the other person in order to process your GekTV payments.
12.If I have lost my credit card and I haven’t received my new card yet, how should I pay the monthly fee?
Please provide us with another credit card number as soon as possible, otherwise your GekTV service will be suspended until payment is received. As a reminder, you can always login to your GekTV account at www.gektv.com to update your account and credit or debit card information.
13.How does GekTV ship out the receivers and how long will it take?
GekTV uses UPS Ground Delivery for shipping the GekBox. You should normally receive it within 5 to 7 business days. Please check your UPS Tracking Number for the progress of your GekBox delivery.
14.Can I come by your office and pick up the receiver in person?
Yes, you can pick up your new GekBox at our South San Francisco office during regular office hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Mondays through Fridays.
15.Is it possible to change to another GekTV subscription plan within the 1 year contract period?
Yes. However, you can ONLY upgrade to a higher-tiered subscription plan at any time (downgrading to a lower-priced subscription plan is not allowed). Your upgrade to the new plan will begin the day after GekTV approves your request. With the transfer of your account to a new plan, your subscription will continue for the remaining months of your original one-year commitment.
16.Is it possible to transfer an existing subscription agreement to another person?
No, transferring of an existing subscription plan to another person is not permitted.
17.What if I cancel my GekTV subscription service prior to fulfilling my one-year contract?
First, you will need to place a 30-day notification to GekTV and pay an early termination fee of $120. Also, you will need to return / ship your GekBox to us within 2 weeks after the plan cancellation date. If you fail to return the Receiver after 30 days of termination, or if the Receiver is not returned in good working condition, your credit card will be charged a total of $150.00 for the Receiver.
18.Do I need to do anything after completing my one-year contract to continue viewing GekTV?
No. Upon fulfilling your one-year contract, you will be on a month to month subscription, and you don’t need to do anything. However, you may receive an extra discount or extra benefits if you renew your contract for another 12 months instead of going to a month to month subscription.
19.What do I need to do if my one-year contract is about to end and I do not wish to continue the GekTV service?

20.Is it possible to check my GekTV monthly statement online?
Yes, you can login to your GekTV account at
www.gektv.com to view your monthly billing statements at any time 24x7. Plus, you can login to your GekTV account to update your account information including your credit / debit card information.
21.What should I do if I forget the login password?
