1.What are GekTV’s office hours?
Customer Support Hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm West Coast time (holidays excluded);
Technical Support hours are 7 am to 12 am East Coast time, 7 days a week (holidays excluded).
2.How can I sign up for GekTV service?
3.Must I commit to a 1 year subscription in order to become a GekTV subscriber?
Yes, and we will waive the cost (retail value $269.99) of the GekTV Receiver (Not applicable to A La Carte channel subscribers). However, the receiver remains the property of GekTV at all times.
4.What methods of payment does GekTV accept?
GekTV will only accept credit card and debit card payments (VISA, MASTERCARD and DISCOVER). Your credit card must have an expiration date of more than 3 months from the registration month.
5.Will I be charged sales tax if I live outside of California?
Only subscribers residing in California will be charged sales tax for the GekTV service. All plan subscribers will pay $5.99 of service charges per month. California monthly plan subscribers will be charged sales tax of $2.08 per month (based on the receiver fee of $269.99 and tax rate at 9.25%), for the first 12 months only. California A La Carte channel subscribers will be charged sales tax of $24.97, which is one time only (based on the receiver fee $269.99) Sales tax applies to California residents only. Shipping: no shipping fee will be charged within the 48 US states (by UPS Ground only). Shipping outside of the 48 US states will be charged $20 for US Postal Service only.
6.Can I use someone else’s credit card to sign up for GekTV service?
Sorry, you must use a credit card under your own name to sign up for GekTV.
7.If I have lost my credit card and I haven’t received my new card yet, how should I pay the monthly fee?
Please provide us with another credit card number as soon as possible, otherwise your GekTV service will be terminated.
8.How does GekTV ship out the receivers and how long will it take?
GekTV uses UPS Ground for shipping the receiver unit within the 48 US states free of charge to the subscriber, and U.S. Postal Service outside of the 48 US states (e.g. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam) with a $20 shipping fee. You should receive it within 5 to 7 business days.
9.Can I come by your office and pick up the receiver by myself?
Yes, you can pick up your GekTV receiver at our
South San Francisco office during regular office hours from 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday.
10.Does GekTV start charging the first month’s subscription fee on the date that I sign up?
No. We begin calculating your first month’s subscription fee on the activation date of your GekTV receiver. If you do not activate the unit, then we will begin calculating your first monthly fee 21 days after we have sent out the receiver to you.
11.Is it possible to change to another GekTV subscription plan within the 1 year contract period?
Yes, you can ONLY upgrade to a higher-tiered subscription plan at any time (Downgrading to a lower-priced plans are not allowed). Your upgrade to the new plan will begin the day after GekTV approves your request. With the transfer of your account to a new plan, your subscription will be renewed for 12 additional months. The new one-year commitment begins on the activation date of your upgraded plan.
12.Is it possible to transfer an existing subscription or contract to another person?
No, transferring of existing subscription is not permitted.
13.What if I want to end or unable to fulfill the 1 year contract?
You will need to place a 30-day notification to GekTV and pay an early termination fee of $180. Also, you will need to return the GekTV receiver unit to us within 2 weeks after the plan cancellation.
14.Do I need to do anything after completing a 1 year contract to continue viewing GekTV?
No. Upon fulfilling your 1 year contract, you will be on a month to month subscription, and you don’t need to do anything. However, you may receive an extra discount or extra benefits if you renew your contract for another year instead of going to a monthly subscription.
15.What do I need to do if my contract is about to end and I do not wish to continue the service?

16.Is it possible to check my GekTV monthly statement online?
Yes, you can go to
www.GekTV.com. You will be able to view your statement after you log in to your account.
17.What should I do if I forget the login password?
Please
click here and enter your email address, then click "Reset Your Password”. We will send you the instructions through email.
18.Is there a registration fee?
An initial advance fee equal to the amount of your monthly subscription plan will be billed to the credit card account you provided to us. This advance feewill apply towards your bill for the last month of your subscription plan. In addition, you will be billed a deposit for the GEKTV IPTV Receiver as follow: $50 for the Wired Receiver and $150 for the Wi-Fi (Wireless) Receiver.
19.When will the deposit for the receiver be refunded back to me?
The Receiver Deposit will be refunded to you upon confirmation of receipt
by GEKTV of the return of the GEKTV IPTV Receiver and cancellation of the service by you. However, if you fail to return the Receiver after 30 days of termination, or if the Receiver is not returned in good working condition, you will be charged a total of $269.99 for the Receiver. The deposit will be forfeited and you will be charged for the remaining balance of the cost of the GEKTV IPTV Receiver as follows: $219.99 for the Wired Receiver and $119.99 for the Wi-Fi (Wireless) Receiver.
